SPRING INTO ACTION: ***Saturday, March 29***
Sign-ups for Spring Outreach Day 2008 have begun at http://www.rice.edu/rsvp!
Come out for a morning or afternoon volunteer session at one of the 22 organizations taking part in this Spring's Outreach Day. Look out for signs about upcoming Study Breaks (free Ben and Jerry's ice cream!) and don't forget to sign up by next ***Friday, March 21***! And as more incentive, each time you get a friend to sign up and attend Outreach Day, your name will be entered into a raffle for a free Coffeehouse giftcard. So grab some friends, sign up, and leave the hedges for an awesome day of community service!

2. Campus Blood Drive

The next campus blood drives will be held Monday, March 24 through Thursday, March 27. It has to come from one person in order to give to another. A critical number of voluntary donations are required every day to meet the need for blood in the Gulf Coast region. However, we are consistently falling short, and falling short means we may not have enough blood for someone like you. The process of giving blood takes about 1 hour. Appointments are encouraged and will be given priority, but walk-ins are always welcome. Making an appointment is easy! Visit the Community Involvement Center's web site (http://www.rice.edu/service) and click on the link for "Campus and Community Blood Drives." You will be directed to the on-line scheduling system for the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. If you have not used the on-line system before you can fill out the form with some basic information that the blood bank will need. Once you have selected your appointment time, date, and location, you will receive an e-mail confirming your appointment and a reminder before your appointment.
