9. Apply for ADVANCE

What is ADVANCE, you may ask...

With the aim to promote cultural awareness in the Rice community, ADVANCE provides a safe space for students to freely discuss socially and culturally relevant issues at weekly lunch meetings. We also sponsor Culture Quest (a Houston-wide cultural scavenger hunt) in the fall and the Culture Fair in the spring so as to engage the Rice population in embracing its remarkable diversity.

Organizing these events makes them all the more fun and rewarding, so I encourage you to apply to become an ADVANCE member. When it comes to promoting diversity at Rice, the more the better! Fill out a quick application online at
http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~advance/apply.html and sign up outside the Office of
Multicultural Affairs (RMC cloisters) for an interview.

I hope you will join us and look forward to seeing you at ADVANCE meetings and events!

Cheers,
Hannah Thalenberg
ADVANCE Student Coordinator
