5. Police Officer Hiring Process
On November 20 and 21, 2009, the University Police Department will host an assessment center as part of the selection of three new Police Officers. An assessment center has been in use as a part of the hiring process for nearly fifteen years. It was chosen because it provides a fair method for determining the most qualified applicant for the position of Police Officer.
A critical component of a good assessment center is the quality of those observing behaviors and judging the performance, the assessors. In addition to the vital part assessors play, role players also have great impact on the success of this process. We are asking the support and assistance of the community by participating as either an assessor or role player. If you are interested in being involved in either of these capacities, please respond by email to this message.
The schedule is as follows:
November 20, 5p-630p, Assessor/Role Player Training and Orientation
November 21, 8a-3p, Assessment Center

From November 1 to November 30, join the Hanszen Men's Resource Center and the Brown Social Concerns Committee in the fight against testicular cancer by not shaving for an entire month. The goal of No Shave November is to raise funds and awareness for testicular cancer, which is the most common form of cancer for men between the ages of 15-40. When someone asks you why you are so incredibly hairy, tell them your cause, and ask them for a small donation. All donations will go to the Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation www.seankimerling.org
Donation envelopes are located inside your college coordinator's office. There are several levels of participation, please visit the facebook group for more information (http://www.facebook.com/n/?event.php&eid=160548839834
