3. President's Office Hours on Wednesday, September 3
President Leebron will hold office hours on Wednesday, September 3, from 300 pm to 4:00 pm in his office on the 4th Floor of Allen Center. No appointments are necessary. This is a way for students to convey concerns, ask questions, or just engage President Leebron in conversation.
The office hours will be conducted with an "open door" approach, allowing as many students to come as will fit in the president's office. Thus, it is not the appropriate forum for private, individual problems that are appropriately handled in the first instance by other university officials.

6. Alternative Winter Break?
Why wait until Spring Break to go on a Service Trip?
Do Something Productive with your Winter Break!
Come join other Rice students and work with an established NGO to provide free medical services to medically deprived people / communities in Central American countries. You'll learn how to diagnose basic diseases commonly found in developing countries, distribute vitamins, and take patient vitals.
Unlike other volunteer programs, this trip will place a high priority to all medical aspects.
Dates: Rice Winter Medical Service Trip--- Dec 26 - Jan 1st.
Location: Merida, Yucatan (Mexico)
Duration: 6 nights and 7 days
Cost: $870 for premeds (flight tickets not included)
Notes: Knowledge of Spanish unnecessary. The cost includes ground transportation, tours, lodging, all breakfasts, guides, interpreters, medical supervision and medical supplies. You will get a detailed itinerary, at least one month before the trip starts. Financial aid available.
