11. Rice ImageShare Launch
Dear Rice Community,

The Campanile Yearbook Staff is proud to announce the launch of Rice ImageShare, an online photo uploading site provided by Jostens Publishing, allowing you to submit photos for inclusion in the yearbook.

All members of the Rice community - students, faculty, staff, parents, and administrators - are invited to submit photos all year long. Whether you've got great photos of school and community events or you and your friends just having fun, we want to see them. Our photographers can't be everywhere all the time! Help us get as many photos as possible to make the 2009 Campanile the best edition yet.

Here's how you can submit photos online:

* Go to: https://imagesjostens.com/?user=1191684&pw=rice
* If it does not automatically log you in, enter username 1191684 and password rice
* Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload; click on the blue 'terms and conditions' link to accept the photo usage policy, then click the 'Image Share' button
* Enter info about the photo (include all people in the photo) and provide your contact info in case our staff needs more information
* Click 'Save Details'

It's that easy! Submit your photos starting today! We?ll do our best to include your photo(s) and are happy to give you credit in the book if your photo is included. No need to size down high-resolution or large photos - those are the best ones to use.

Be it college photos, student organization photos, clubs, varsity sports, IM sports, club sports, community events - we want to see your photos!

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about the Rice ImageShare site.

Cheers,

Campanile Yearbook Staff

Vote for Lovett
Rice's Lovett Hall is among the 50 buildings singled out by the American Institute of Architects Houston as contenders for Houston's most iconic architecture. AIA Houston and the Houston Chronicle are asking readers to vote for their favorite online. If you register on the Houston Chronicle site (it's free), you can rate Lovett Hall (one to five stars) and add your personal comments about the building, which is listed under its original name, Rice University Administration Building. Voting might end Sunday, so if you love Lovett, visit the link below soon.

14. PAIR College Counseling Needs Volunteers
Rice?s Partnership for the Advancement & Immersion of Refugees (PAIR) is looking for volunteers to help refugee students learn about the college/scholarship application process. Our goal is to teach refugees more about the American education system and help them as they apply (or prepare to apply) to colleges. We?ll be working with students in grades 9-12 at local high schools, and we need volunteers on Monday and/or Wednesday afternoons from 3-6 (including travel time). Volunteering with PAIR?s College Counseling division is a fun, easy way to get involved and provide needed guidance for these students. We?ll even reimburse any driving costs. Contact Caroline Nganga (cwn1@rice.edu) or Tiffany Gill (tlg1@rice.edu) if you?re interested. Additionally, you can stop by the PAIR study break in Sammy?s Cafe on Thursday, September 11th, at 8 p.m.
