1. Sign Up for Gear Up!
GEAR-UP (Fri. 15 Jan.) is a yearly, all-day event hosted by SHPE in which high school students go through financial aid and college admissions workshops. The students also go through an engineering design competition. This year, the number of students they've invited has tripled (120!) and they have asked Society of Women Engineers to co-host the event.
We need guides and building contest volunteers. Guides may be asked to give a campus tour. Contest is either a bridge or house design.
For more information, visit the Rice SWE website, e-mail Anna Duenas (annaduenas@gmail.com), or go directly to the volunteer page (http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~swe/volunteerGEAR-UP.html).
Hope to see you all there!

8. Rice Dance Theater Auditions
When: Wednesday January 20th and Thursday January 21st from 4-5:30pm
Where: Dance Theater in the Rec Center (on the second floor)
Who: You! We have dancers with a wide variety of experience and skill level.
Please wear clothes that you can dance in and bring your schedule. You don't have to come to both days, but it's a good idea.
Here's a little bit about us, if you don't know:
"Rice Dance Theatre was originally organized by a group of students in 1979. It developed as a modern dance company devoted to training students in the techniques of modern dance and choreography. Annually, two dance concerts were presented with original choreography by faculty, students, and guest choreographers from the Houston community. Since 1982, the structure has remained fairly consistent with an average of 25 members."
