7. Leadership Rice’s Envision Grant
Think you can make Rice a better place?
Convince us and Leadership Rice can help you make it happen.
Leadership Rice’s Envision Grant program provides start-up funding for individual or group projects that generate a positive impact at Rice and beyond. Grants typically range from $200-$2500 and are awarded for projects that promote service, demonstrate ingenuity, plan for sustainability, and facilitate leadership development. Previous and current Envision projects include the Coffeehouse, the Undergraduate Research Symposium, and the EcoRep program in the residential colleges.
Employers and scholarship committees look favorably on students with unconventional leadership experiences and are particularly impressed by students who possess the initiative and ability to translate ideas to action. Show them you’ve got what it takes.
The Envision Grant.
Dream it. Plan it. Do it.
Deadline extended to April 15th.

8. Rice Ambassador Program
It's that time of year again and we've started the recruiting process for the Rice Ambassador Program! I am hoping to get at least 40 more students on board this year. Do you mind distributing the attached flyer to the students in your college? This program is very important to us. Our Student Ambassadors represent Rice University; they are responsible for giving our visitors a better understanding of student life and a sense of the collegiate campus atmosphere. Students may apply today at www.rice.edu/amb for more information on the Student Ambassador Program. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 11 by 5:00p.m. If you have any question, please don't hesitate to contact me.

10. NYC Business Conference
All-Expenses Paid Student Business Conference in NYC!!!
If you relish the thought of hobnobbing with CEOs in New York on someone else’s dime, here’s your chance. The Foundation for Student Communication (student publisher of Business Today, founded by Steve Forbes and still run out of Princeton by undergraduate students) organizes an annual international conference whose goal is to bring together top student and corporate leaders for informal dialogue. I attended last year’s conference on sustainable growth and corporate responsibility. There were very frank discussions, and I think everyone left being more knowledgeable than before. The student organizers and attendees alike were very friendly and most everyone was interesting in some way.
This year’s conference is November 23-25 at the Times Square Marriott Marquis, and current sophomores and juniors (sorry seniors) can apply here. Read more about it here. You DO NOT have to be studying business to apply - I ran into several engineers and a couple other scientists.

11. Need a summer sublease?
I have a fully furnished apartment less than two miles south of campus and want to offer it to my fellow Hanszenites first. I have one great roommate who will be leaving in July. We have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a huge living room with vaulted ceilings. The kitchen is fully equipped so no need to bring plates or silverware. We have 24/7 security, a fireplace, washer, dryer, balcony (second floor) and small community pool. The rent is $475 per month plus wireless ($22.50/month) and electricity. Call or email me for more info!
